Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal Flower)

Native perennial that produces showy red blooms in mid- to late summer.  Clump-forming with bloom stalks rising 2'-3' and a plant spread of 1'-2'.  Loves rich, moist soil and prefers full sun to part shade.  Blooms are extremely attractive to pollinators.
